OYELEKE THE MANNY FOR BRENTFORD

After a successful season Emmanuel Oyeleke has agreed a two-year scholarship at League 1 side Brentford. The 17-year-old follows in the footsteps of defender Zachary Farr who joined Northampton Town earlier in April.

Having only needed a small window to impress, Darren Sarll, the youth team manager at Brentford explained why the Bees moved quickly to secure his services: “Manny was recommended to us by FootballCV and in a one week trial with the club really impressed us.

“He is a talented footballer who has been well coached at FootballCV - we will certainly be monitoring their players in the future."

Having previously been on the books of Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea, the central midfielder was delighted to take another step on the ladder towards a professional career, back at a London club.

As well as his football education, Manny's mother Abi is also grateful for the wide ranging support FootballCV have provided: “Sending Manny to FootballCV was the best decision we've ever made. They have provided the perfect opportunity for playing football and studying and at the same time, the discipline needed to focus and work hard to achieve his goals.

“All the coaching and residential staff helped Manny to develop to his full potential - physically, emotionally and academically. He will undoubtedly always remember all the life skills and experiences he had during his short stay at the academy. Manny joined the academy as a boy; he is leaving as a confident young man.”

Oyeleke signed off from FootballCV in style, netting the FCV Reds' goal as they went on to win the Central Conference League Cup Final. The Northamptonshire-based side beat Halesowen Town 3-2 on penalties, following a 1 -1 stalemate after ninety minutes.
