FORMER MEMBER MAKES BIG MONEY MOVE DURING TRANSFER WINDOW

The transfer window is just hours from closing and so far the Red Devil's capture of the England under-21 international is the biggest deal completed in this country. The 20-year-old has joined on a four-year deal but will stay with Fulham on-loan until the end of the season.

Smalling was playing for non-league club Maidstone just 18 months ago when he was spotted by the Cottagers and having been watched six times in the space of four weeks he was handed a chance in a reserve team game. Within 15 minutes Fulham Manager Roy Hodgson, watching on the sidelines, had seen enough and offered him a professional contract.

This fairytale story gives hope to many; the young defender struggled to find an academy club at schoolboy level but refused to give up and registered with FootballCV.com as he looked to pursue the career he had always dreamed of.

FootballCV.com is the brainchild of Peter Mallinger and Graham Starmer which was initially set up as a website for players to register their footballing CV.

Following great success, FootballCV.com began staging trials days at various clubs up and down the country in 2001 and six years later progressed to open the first private football academy in the UK that offers players aged 16-19 years old full-time coaching and educational courses.

Smalling is one a number of players who have been associated with FootballCV.com during those ten years who have gone on to carve out a successful career in the professional game and the company hopes many more of it's thousands of members will continue to progress and become success stories in their own right.
