WEBSTER'S PRAISE FOR FOOTBALLCV

FootballCV.com Member Byron Webster signed for Coca-Cola Championship side Doncaster Rovers in the summer after an interesting couple of seasons which has included a spell playing in the Czech Republic.

The 22-year-old made his first team debut for Rovers in the Carling Cup win over Notts County in August and has made three appearances since, including a substitute appearance against Tottenham in the same competition:

“It was a really good game to be involved in, I was playing against players like Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch so it was a great experience for me.

“Although we lost the game there were still some positives to take from games like that when you play against top players, you can learn a great deal and add things to your own game.

“Everything is going really well, I'm very excited to be here and am working hard to get myself in the first team.

FootballCV.com helped Webster to arrange a trial with Czech Republic club FK Baník Most and after some eye-catching performances he was asked to train with Rovers this summer. The midfielder certainly took his chance by impressing Manager Sean O'Driscoll, which prompted the boss to sign Webster on a two-year contract, and he knows he owes a lot to the help of FootballCV.com:

“I think what FootballCV.com do is brilliant because it is hard for the young lads that get released by clubs to then try and go somewhere else.

“It's a lot harder now that the youth training schemes at clubs have gone from being three-year to two-year programmes.

“I was lucky enough to have three years which gave me a lot of experience because the first and second years allowed me time to settle in the youth and reserve teams and in my final year I was able to get first team experience.

“Now that clubs are only doing two-year schemes it is a lot harder for young players to make the grade and that's why I think FootballCV.com's concept is really good because they allow players more chances after they have been released.”
